What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Pay is at the top end of what any of my friends are paid at other firms.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 30 May 2021
Overall, pay could be higher; typically juniors don't get bonuses but this can be task/partner dependent.

I think these are generally in line with the market. Perhaps a bit less than some of the top-tier competitors, but it is a trade-off - I am not interested in extremely generous remuneration in exchange for not having a life outside of work. Generally, the hours worked at Baker McKenzie are sometimes hard and long, but not ridiculous like those sometimes expected at some other law firms. When taken in this context, I think the pay and bonuses provided at Baker McKenzie are more than adequate, and indeed generous.

Pay is very reasonable and in line with (or better than) the market. I have only recently left the lockstep system and have not yet had an opportunity to receive a bonus.

Pay is good relative to other firms but not the highest. Bonuses are available after you settle
Graduate, Sydney - 19 May 2021
Pay is good for my level. Just started, so not sure re bonuses.
Graduate, Melbourne - 19 May 2021
Don't know about bonus structure. Would be good to learn about this and have the resources directed to us. Shows something to strive for or just know about. Graduate pay seems comparable to other firms. However, other firms have joining/starter bonuses and deferral bonuses (if deferred due to COVID).

Pay is highly respected within an international law firm, and is what I would consider to be at the higher end of the pay spectrum, particularly considering the work environment and hours.
Graduate, Sydney - 11 May 2021
The pay is around the top of the market in the legal industry in Sydney.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Free travel insurance (at least, I hope this will be a good perk when travel is possible)
Midlevel, Melbourne - 30 May 2021
Anyone who works past 7pm gets dinner paid for and reimbursed for an uber/taxi home. There are also a number of corporate discounts and perks available.
Graduate, Melbourne - 21 May 2021
Paid dinners and taxis if staying back late for work are great. There is also free travel insurance which is terrific - although perhaps less utilised now in the COVID environment. There are a host of other corporate benefits and discounts, including with many key brands.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 20 May 2021
Late night taxis and dinner when working late, and travel insurance for you and your partner regardless of whether the travel is for work or personal.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 19 May 2021
Free tickets to arts and cultural events.
Graduate, Sydney - 19 May 2021
Discounts at various stores in the city.
Graduate, Sydney - 19 May 2021
Corporate discounts.
Graduate, Melbourne - 19 May 2021
Taxis (but this is industry standard and to be expected); other corporate deals (don't really take advantage of these); the cafe and kitchen facilities are great.
Graduate, Sydney - 12 May 2021
The best perk is, by far, when working at the Sydney office, we have a cafe with free tea/coffee/beverages which you can use at any time. Our barista (Christina, who is simply the most amazing human) will whip you up any custom order. It is also a great way to get ready in the morning with colleagues, catch up and hit the day running.
Graduate, Sydney - 11 May 2021
Free coffees, the best views in Sydney, free theatre tickets, free dinners and taxis.
