Baker Indigenous Engagement

Baker McKenzie is committed to reconciliation and developing respect, trust and positive relationships with First Nations peoples and communities.

Baker Indigenous Engagement was established in 2018 to support and progress the Firm's reconciliation journey. Our Baker Indigenous Engagement committee’s responsibilities include supporting Baker McKenzie's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which is now in its second ‘Innovate’ iteration.

Baker Indigenous Engagement runs a number of events throughout the year, including during National Reconciliation and NAIDOC weeks, and invited various speakers to our offices during the Voice referendum debates (which the Firm actively and publicly supported). We also run a cultural awareness program, which all partners and employees are encouraged to complete, to raise understanding of – and to build connections with – First Nations peoples and cultures.
