The CFC Group offers a structured program to provide a comprehensive experience across these diverse sectors.

CFC Group Program Objectives:

  1. Provide graduates with hands-on experience across core business areas.
  2. Equip graduates with the technical and interpersonal skills necessary for success in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment.
  3. Build a network within the industries and provide mentorship opportunities to guide career development.

Program Structure:

Rotational Assignments (12 Months)
Depending on qualifications, experience and role preferences, a graduate will have the opportunity to spend approximately three months working in each of CFC Group businesses:

  • CFC Group and/or Birchmead
  • Centurion
  • CEA
  • Cape Dunstans

The CFC Group Graduate program can offer hands on experience in the following areas:

Operations:

  1. Working on the ground in logistics management, supply chain optimisation, and fleet operations.
  2. Spend time on active sites, learning about project management, estimation, engineering and construction operations.
  3. Inventory management, work on optimising inventory levels and improving distribution networks.

Technology and Innovation:

  1. Support logistics, construction, marketing and technology solutions, including automation tracking and management systems.
  2. Develop solutions that align with the business’s commitment to innovation.
  3. Work on IT and analytical projects that involve multiple business areas, addressing a real business challenge or opportunity.

Commercial:

  1. Develop real-life experience in investment strategies, learning the financial aspects of valuation and investment analysis.
  2. Be involved in contract management, understanding the intricacies of bid management, estimation, contracts, and client relationships.
  3. Participate in planning and development projects, from concept to execution.
  4. Understand and be part of customer management planning and process.

Communications and Marketing:

  1. Develop and deploy effective communication strategies.
  2. Learn about the sales strategies and marketing efforts involved in equipment distribution.
  3. Engage with customers to understand their needs and how the business meets them.

Finance:

  1. Work with the finance team to understand budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  2. Participate in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  3. Learn about financial risk management, including credit risk and liquidity management.

ESG and Sustainability:

  1. Engage in projects aimed at reducing the Group’s carbon footprint, improving energy efficiency and managing waste.
  2. Participate in the CFC Foundation, focusing on the Group’s efforts to contribute positively.
  3. Understand the company's governance framework, compliance with regulations, and risk management practices.
  4. Contribute to the development of sustainability reporting.

Legal:

  1. Support the company’s legal obligations, including corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Participate in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  3. Gain exposure to legal dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.

The CFC Group would like to hear from graduates who are interested in a 12-month program in any of the seven areas identified above. The program can also accommodate a combination of the areas if a graduate would like to participate in more than one work area.

A graduate who completes the 12-month program will have the opportunity to participate in a final assessment and potential career planning within the CFC Group.

Support and development provided throughout a graduate’s time with the CFC Group:
Mentorship: Each graduate will be paired with a mentor from senior management who guides the program.
Training and Workshops: in-house training on leadership, communication, project management, and other key skills.

Graduates will emerge from the program with a solid understanding of the area/s they’ve participated in, a strong network across multiple industries, and a pathway for future opportunities – all while being part of a values-driven organisation - CFC Group’s RIPPA values: Respect, Integrity, Passion, Persistence and Accountability.

Cape Dunstans is a provider of material processing and logistics, utilities and infrastructure solutions to the Resources, Utilities and Infrastructure Sectors.

Birchmead is an integrated property investment, development and management business. Deploying capital into high-quality and sustainable property through direct investment or joint ventures.
