Gender Equality at Alluvium Group

Equality cultivates a richer, more creative work culture and provides us with the confidence to reach for greater success and resilience

Having greater gender diversity in leadership positions promotes and positively reinforces the value of gender equality. That’s why Alluvium have made a commitment to the promotion of women in leadership, technical and decision-making roles, no matter where they are in their career journey, and that by the end of 2022 we would achieve:

  1. 50% representation of women in our Board positions
  2. 50% representation of women in senior roles

We are proud to say we achieved that target, putting us ahead of the industry benchmark.

To continue to improve upon this result, in February 2024 we made a further commitment to move to a 40:40:20 (a ratio of 40% men, 40% women, 20% of any gender) framework for targets, which will be considered when we review our strategy in late 2024, and to examine our approach to gender pay gaps through comparing ourselves against the detailed measures in the Workplace Gender Equality Agency framework.

We acknowledge that there is a legacy of gender imbalance across our industry that may, at times, limit our ability to achieve these targets. Despite this, we continue to support and encourage the development of women into these positions and strive to achieve our targets by:

  1. Ensuring our policies reflect our intention, including flexible working schedules, provision of technology and tools to enable flexible and remote work, extended leave policies and return to work programs
  2. Supporting development through coaching, and participation in leadership training and other targeted development
  3. Facilitating mentoring (as mentee and mentor) opportunities
  4. Raising awareness through events such as International Women’s Day
  5. Promoting the representation of Alluvium women as speakers at industry forums and conferences.
