Online assessment - video interview - team interview
Graduate, Sydney - 12 Apr 2022
Initial application with options to select preferences for sector of engineering etc. Next stage was an online skills assessment, followed by a one way interview of two in-depth questions. This step allowed for unlimited time to read the questions and prepare an answer, which was greatly appreciated as this allowed time to really think and provide a truthful answer. After being successful in both these stages, a video interview with a few members of the company from the team I would be joining was conducted. Following this was a phone call with an offer. After accepting offer, references were asked to fill out a written reference through a 3rd party service. In the lead up to starting the job, there were monthly graduate pre- start sessions that covered different areas of the business and what they do.

It started with my resume and cover letter application to WSP through my universities career page. This was followed by a phone call with the talent acquisition member which detailed my general interests in the role , what it is all about, and arranging an interview with the team directors. About a week later I had my interview with my director in the WSP office, we had an hour long conversation about the position and my suitability for the role. No formal assessments were undertaken, was more of just a general chat to get to know each other.

Interview held for 45min, friendly gesture, made me so comfortable, allowed me to share my views, my career expectations, challenges etc. I have been asked technical questions, previous experience, behavioral questions etc. Entire process was an excellent conversation.
Graduate, adelaide - 06 Apr 2022
Not having to do an assessment center was really nice. Some initial screening questions from the HR department (Done over the phone which was nice instead of filling out a form) and then an interview with two people in the team. The whole process felt wholly personal and allowed me to be both comfortable to express myself and confident in expressing myself, due to not having to compare and contrast yourself to other's looking for work.
