What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
On par with market.

The pay system is very good and fair. There is a lot of work done to ensure wage parity as well as ensure people who work hard get the rewards they deserve
Graduate, Adelaide - 09 Oct 2023
It sucks that the non-technical graduates get paid less than the technical graduates. I am still happy with my pay nonetheless.

Pay can always be better, I think everyone will agree. But it's good pay so can't complain

I understand that graduates tend to get paid less in their first year but then often get a reasonable raise after rolling off to a regular permanent position. However beyond this there isn't much growth in pay. The annual salary adjustment was well below CPI. Bonuses are pretty good - it's difficult to get anything substantial, but everyone generally gets something which is fair given that a bonus should not be guaranteed or expected.

The graduate pay is about standard, but once the grad program ends, the salary for software engineers is only average, and there are definitely higher paying software jobs out there. Additionally, network engineers, who do very similar roles, get paid a significant sum more, 10-20k more than software engineers, which many people think is ridiculous. Bonus is generous

Great

As a graduate, the pay is not matched with the market as well as the kind of work we do. I feel like we can get more money outside of the company.
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Oct 2023
On the lower side of market, but I'm happy to take it because I wouldn't want to trade in the work culture, flexibility, and career experience.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
There are so many perks involved with Telstra that it's hard to keep up. You name it, Telstra has a deal with a company. In particular the Telstra staff discount is awesome.

free phone and phone plan paid for by our company. Discounts on a lot of brands (e.g. Nike, Puma), discounts on musicals. We get free work from home equipment (standing desk, desk chair, monitor, keyboard, mouse).

Best perks is getting to work with so many different people with different backgrounds and learning how vast Telstra is to work at

Telstra has a corporate partnership with many companies allowing employees to get discounts on groceries, entertainment, furniture etc. They are also a sponsor for many live events, so discounted or free tickets are often available.

Generous leave, Cultural leave, volunteer leave etc. and more can't think off the top of my head
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Oct 2023
Free concert/sport tickets. Generous discounts on a wide range of products. Ability to purchase additional leaves.
Graduate, Sydney - 04 Oct 2023
There are often free tickets to sports games or theatre (not movies) given out at a first come first served basis. There is also a very generous partner program which gives access to many discounts across various industries

Average you expect. Leave politics are great
