Job Satisfaction at Sparke Helmore Lawyers

My role as a law grad entails a variety of things. I mainly assist a small team based in Perth on any employment or safety matters that they are working on.

Drafting correspondence, legal documents such as affidavits, chronology etc, engaging in discovery.

I feel that I am given opportunities and work that would not be offered to junior team members at other firms.

My role is as a Graduate in the Comm Insurance, Specialty Lines team. I assist other solicitors with running litigation and regulatory proceedings, incl drafting legal documents, liaising with clients and regulators and considering case strategy.

Document review, meetings, negotiations, emails and admin.

As a law graduate I feel it is an awkward stage in my career as sometimes I am treated like a lawyer and other days I am treated like a paralegal. My tasks therefore change drastically. It is simply the nature of the role.
