Culture at Safe Work Australia

8.5
8.5 rating for Culture, based on 6 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The culture in my team is collaborative. We are assigned to work on certain topics with different members of the team, to encourage different team members to work together and to share the workload among team members. My team is supportive, and I feel confident I can seek assistance and ask questions of any members of my team, including director and branch manager. The hierarchy of the team isn't that evident, as all team members could work alongside and with other more senior staff, are encouraged to voice their research and findings, are responsible for leading team meetings, and are all allocated pursuant to a roster for media and case monitoring. Therefore, there is a sense of equality among the team in that sense.

My team has a fairly flat structure. We all get along really well and are very good at delegating work and helping each other to manage competing priorities. After hours culture is also good, and standard work hours are almost always adhered to.

As it's a small agency there is less of a rigid hierarchy and managers are all very approachable.

People are very friendly and approachable and work very well together. We get together socially on occasion, but this doesn't occur very often. However, the Agency does try to give us more visibility into the work of executives.

As Safe Work Australia is a small Agency, employees are able to build personal relationships with colleagues from a range of teams within the Agency, which supports strong cooperation and teamwork. The Safe Work Australia Social Club runs many after-hours social events throughout the year.
