The role

As part of our Commercial group, the Contracts Administrator is responsible for the delivery of commercial administrative support to a range of projects and corporate functions within the organisation. 

The incumbent would be expected to be an active member of the Commercial Group and contribute to the achievement of the role of the Commercial Group within Saab

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Assist in the drafting and negotiation of various project and corporate contracts and agreements (including variations and contract change proposals);
  • Drafting and preparation of simple correspondence, documents and agreements (e.g. confidentiality agreements, basic statutory declarations, terms and conditions, guarantees etc).
  • Preparation of project related invoices, payment claims and related documentation;
  • Administration of a range of agreements including leases, insurance policies, consultancy agreements, export applications;
  • Administer various filing systems – including configuration management of hard and soft copies;
  • Contribute to monthly project reports;

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline – eg Law, Commerce etc (essential)
  • Understanding of Australia contract law principles. (essential)
  • Experience in a commercial environment including contract preparation, administration and management of contractual relationships. (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of the Australian Defence Industry contracting and procurement processes (desirable)
  • Understanding of contractual requirements of large multi-discipline projects in an engineering, construction or defence environment (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of Australian and US Government Export control processes (desirable)
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices (desirable)

A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.
