Interview process for my team was comprehensive and thorough.

Apply online, interview questions on computer screen, accounting assessments, in person interview and team exercise

Friendly and accurate

There was an assessment to test my basics of accounting. A few days after that, I had my interview with the manager.

Many stages but it was very quick. Quick responses from RSM.

Video interview, first round in person interviews, online assessments, second interview.

Open ended communication Assessed my ability to work in a team/individual environment. First interview was informal and the second interview was a formal interview providing information on questions I wanted answered.

The process was simple & easy. I never felt unsure about what was required of me. There were 2 interviews with a manager and partner from my office and a series of other online tests from HR in Perth.

I had an interview with a partner initially and got the role. Then when wanting to transfer departments met with a manager and a partner,

I was directly engaged and did not have an interview.

General ability online assessment, writing sample, and then on-site interview.

Applied online, completed multiple stages of interview and assessments and then got an in person interview

I came in for an interview with a Partner and Manager. I then had to fill out a personality test. I also had to complete an accounting skills test.

I went through the CA Achiever program , not the normal RSM program. Thus, no comments can be made about RSM's recruitment process.

Interview went smoothly. Assessments were provided promptly and with sufficient instructions and timeframes.

Some technical questions, and few personal questions

The usual interview questions mixed in with other more specific questions to further ascertain what kind of person I am.

Basic accounting questions.

1. Tell me about yourself. 2. What do you usually do when you're struggling with an issue. 3. what do you do during your free time.

About teamwork, experiences. No questions about accounting/audit.

I can't remember as it was over a year ago, general discussion and talking about the role and opportunity

Both interviews were fairly relaxed and were more of a chat than an interview.

What are your problem-solving approaches when you face a challenge?

Personality, experience, and familiarity with software.

Where do I see myself in 5 years time? What do I consider my strengths? What do I consider my weaknesses?

Thoughts on the industry mainly, I was coming from a hospitality background so mainly just ascertaining if the office life was something that I would enjoy.

You can try faking it and making it. But that won't bring you happiness in the long run. Be yourself.

Read it through the job description, do some research on main responsibilities, laws and regulations applied to that area

I think that it is important to emphasise that it is important to be a likeable and sociable person to work in this sort of environment.

Be yourself and transparent

Be confident

Understand what the company does and it's principles.

Don't memorise the answers. Be yourself.

Listen to interview podcasts

Take long and hard to communicate. Make sure to save time and follow up a lot of time.

Do some research about the company and all services offered. Have an idea about what tasks will be required.

If going for a position at a country office, just be friendly I think the most important thing in a country office is just to be friendly and be an enjoyable team member.

Be personable and passionate

Show that you are confident but also very willing and able to learn and develop.

I recommend to read scientific research papers that contain hypothesis development and experimental procedures.

Be yourself and be honest! Do some research and know the basics of what RSM do and their values

Be confident, be yourself and always ask questions about the job you are interviewing for to gather an understanding of what it is you will be doing.

Express that you want to learn, that you want to be molded by RSM

Get a good understanding of the different divisions and what they do to know which one you would best fit into.
