Career Prospects at RACV

Limited opportunities to move outside of Victoria. More work is required before state of the art tech such as AI can have a material impact at an enterprise level.

Can't really speak for myself as I'm just starting my career. But I see colleagues around me having the opportunity to progress and take up secondments.

Opportunities everywhere, range of different roles that you can choose to progress in

There are many opportunities to apply for internal roles within the company, and there is lots of movement with staff across different teams. There are also lots of secondment opportunities where you have the opportunity to experience another role for a set period of time. To move up the ranks you must not go unknown and be present at the office and to division wide meetings and events. You must also put your hand up to help out with projects and give things a go.

Employees are promoted based on a combination of skill and leadership qualities.

Being at a large organisation that operates across different industries provides opportunity for development and learning through involvement and movement across the organisation. Promotion opportunities may be limited by a lot of long-standing employees and more static ranks.

Promotion opportunities and chances to move up/horizontally within the company are frequent. I have seen many people (outside of the grads) get promoted and many people I have worked with getting experience in other areas.
