About Us

Using your skills in accounting, tax, consulting, and finance, you will have a strong passion for relationships and working as part of a team. PwC Private Tax Advisory supports privately owned businesses and their owners to navigate the challenges of their unique financial journeys.

In your role within Private Tax (Business Tax or Family Office), you will provide fully integrated tax and advisory services to your clients, including businesses across a diverse range of industries, entrepreneurs, high-net-wealth individuals, and family offices. As a critical part of our client delivery team, you will be working alongside the team to solve problems that are important to our clients every day:

  • managing and executing transactions in the private market
  • designing and implementing structures that are fit for our client's commercial objectives
  • liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), including representing our clients during ATO engagements and managing their tax reporting obligations
  • providing advice around the purchase of new investments or business assets
  • supporting families as they look to transfer wealth between generations, including through their succession planning
  • helping our clients contribute to important causes through private charities and philanthropic giving to support environmental, social, and charitable agendas

What is the Trainee Program?

As a Trainee, you'll embark on a three-year journey of combined work and study with PwC. You'll join us as a full-time employee while you study part-time for two (2) years. You will take a break from full-time work to complete your degree in the third year!

Balance is important. That's why you'll receive one (1) day of paid study while you work four (4) days a week! This means you’ll receive a full-time salary while you study! As a trainee, you’ll combine your university studies with work experience to build the perfect foundation for your career, all while receiving professional and financial support in a full-time paid role.

About the Opportunity

In the PwC Private Tax team, you’ll find yourself in a culture that values well-being and working together. Alongside your peers, you’ll solve problems like managing domestic and international tax issues for our clients, advising on new investment purchases for our clients, and striving to educate Next-Gen family members and business owners. You'll use your skills in accounting, tax, consulting, finance, and strong relationship management skills to make an impact across various clients and industries. And along the way, you’ll build relationships and skills to set you up for a lifetime of success.

What will a normal day look like? Well you can count on that every day you will:

  • Design and implement structures to support our clients to meet their commercial and family objectives
  • Represent our clients during engagements with the Australian Tax Office and partner with them to meet their tax compliance requirements
  • Help to manage and execute private market transactions
  • Be surrounded by strong mentors, meaningful work, and plenty of networking opportunities

As a trainee in PwC Private Tax, the top three skills you’ll need to hit the ground running are:

  • Studying either Commerce, Accounting, or Law
  • An understanding of key accounting and/or tax principles
  • A focus and passion for the private client space

The anticipated start date is 26 January 2024

Your New Benefits

  • Flexible daily working hours for a work-life balance that suits you
  • Work overseas or interstate for that precious time with your family and friends
