Please describe the interview process and assessments.
I submitted a cover letter and resume, then was invited to an in-person interview where I had to present on myself and how I could contribute to the firm.

The interview process was very smooth, the interviewers were friendly and not too formal. HR was responsive to any queries.

The hiring process was very straight forward, I applied for the Graduate Program online, went through an interview and then was offered the role. The firm was very flexible and understanding during the interview process as I was travelling overseas at the time and they accommodated conducting an online interview for me.
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jun 2023
The interview process was informal. It focused on my past experience. There were also some behavioral questions asked but not very difficult.
Graduate, Perth - 21 Jun 2023
I worked as a paralegal before the graduate program. 1 interview and written question set (interview type questions) for the paralegal hiring process. The same for graduate program.

What questions were you asked in your interviews?
I was asked to tell the interviewers about a time where I made a mistake in the workplace, and how I dealt with it. I was also asked what I do outside of work and what is most important to me in the workplace.

Standard interview questions about why you want to work here etc...
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jun 2023
I was asked relativity standard interview questions, and my interviewers took a genuine interest in my travel and asked me what I learnt from travelling. I recall being asked the question what diversity and inclusion meant to me, and I thought this was an excellent question.
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jun 2023
I was asked to give a presentation on my understanding of the firm's value: approachable, bold and connected. How do you deal with multiple deadlines.
Graduate, Perth - 21 Jun 2023
1 or 2 behavioural questions, questions on interest in law and the firm, questions on myself (including questions not legally focused).

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Be yourself. The interviewers are looking to see how you are as a person, and whether you are someone they would enjoy working with. If you have made it to the interview, your CV and cover letter have already done their job, so now it is just about showing that you are someone that will fit the culture here.
Graduate, Melbourne - 25 Jul 2023
Reach out to current or recent graduates in the firm. Build a rapport with them, and they might (most definitely will) be happy to assist.
Graduate, Melbourne - 14 Jul 2023
Be genuine and don't stress yourself out. All the staff are really nice and you'll do best if you're able to show who you genuinely are rather than who you think HR might want you to be. There is a strong emphasis on culture and so it will pay off to show that you are friendly etc...
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jun 2023
Take some time to research the company (both in Australia and overseas) to try and understand the type of work that the firm is involved in, what differentiates it from other firms, and think about which areas might interest you. Think about your past experiences and how the skills you've worked on could contribute to the firm.
Graduate, Melbourne - 22 Jun 2023
My best advice is to let your personality shine during the interview and don't be afraid to share your culture and diversity with your interviewer, this is something which I used to shy away from in an interview but at Pinsent Masons they truly so embrace diversity.
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jun 2023
To illustrate how they are global citizens who are equipped the skills to work in an international firm.
Graduate, Perth - 21 Jun 2023
Be yourself. If you come into the interview trying to pass off as someone else, the interviewers will see through you.
