I would say once you have enough experience and skills then you definitely can have the promotion. The promotion possibilities in our company is large.

There is a clear hierarchy/career ladder in the company - interns, grads, engineer, senior engineer, associate, principal engineer. It takes years of experience and additional technical requirements eg. getting chartered through engineers Australia to move up the ladder. They are keen in developing the team to fill roles, but it does take a long time to move about since there are only limited positions.

You are likely to be offered a graduate position as an undergrad if you show that you are personable, are keen to engage with your colleagues and the office culture and have a genuine interest in the work you are involved in. If you prove you can handle more responsibility, you will progress comfortably.

Promotion possibilities are a bit of an unknown to juniors. The grad program is quite long (2-3 years) and there isnt much of an indication as to when or how you develop to the next stage.
