No matter what you’re studying, we’re looking for students who are keen to roll up their sleeves, eager to learn and contribute from day one.  

You’ll put your learnings to work in a global business, working with a diverse team on real projects. Designed to help you determine a career path is right for you, you’ll develop new skills, build your professional network, and explore interesting fields.  

Our Summer Interns are eligible to be fast-tracked for our Graduate Program.  

Ready to get started? We have opportunities in: 

Retail Banking and Financial Services:  

Gain customer-focused experience with our retail banking team. Help our customers purchase their first home, start a business, manage their finances, or buy a car. As an intern in Retail Banking, you could work in a variety of divisions, from Personal Banking, to Wealth Management and Product and Technology.  

Capital Markets:  

Get exposure to Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Capital Markets, Principal and Equities. As an intern in Capital Markets, you could support teams working across diverse sectors, clients, deals and projects.  

Commodities and Trading: 

Learn about trading commodities, energy, metals, futures and equities in our Commodities and Trading team. You’ll have an opportunity to partner with our clients and help provide tailored solutions that maximise opportunities in global markets.  

Asset Management: 

Play a role in managing electricity networks, renewable energy platforms, farms, and investments in hospitals, aged-care facilities, and other essential businesses. As an intern, you’ll be part of our global Asset Management team providing investment solutions to clients across a range of capabilities.  

Risk Management: 

Contribute to the long-term success of Macquarie with our Risk Management team. You’ll work on strategies to help manage and prevent risks in our business in order to deliver successful and sustainable business outcomes.  

Finance and Accounting: 

Play a critical role in growing Macquarie’s businesses and help transform our finance function in our Finance and Accounting team. As an intern, you’ll be part of team that provides strategic advice to senior management on how to support the growth of Macquarie’s businesses around the world.  

Technology:  

Help connect people and data, build platforms and applications or design tomorrow’s technology solutions. Join our Technology Internship and work across a range of technology disciplines, businesses and teams.  

Operations, Business Services and HR: 

Support our businesses to be agile, innovative, and effective. As an intern, you could join our Business Services, HR, Services Management, or Operations teams.

After completing two internships with Macquarie, Commerce and Law Graduate Tiffany Wu joined Macquarie Capital’s Equity Capital Markets team in 2019. Tiffany describes her time on Macquarie’s Graduate Program as a “phenomenal experience”, that saw her involved in raising billions in capital for Macquarie Capital’s clients during COVID-19.
