As a comms graduate, the workload can be huge one day and small the next, but I feel like my line manager has increased my responsibilities and workload in a well constructed, supportive and logical way. My responsibilities are growing as I learn more, and I find that this helps my confidence! My work has largely been in assisting events, logging data, organising community engagement, discussing with the local community, emailing community members and managing occupations and their affect on the community. Additionally, I work directly with the client to draft and distribute works notices, working as a intermediary between the engineers and the community. The work and the job has exceeded my expectations.

Observe day to day works, track costs, design interpretation and implementation, programming, cost management, quality management

Cost tracking, program tracking, Quality control, daily activity documenting.

As a graduate engineer I support other engineers in managing jobs, organising materials and resources, putting together documentation for works and delivering the works. I work closely with other key personal such as SEQ advisors, accountants and commercial managers to ensure the project is run safely and within budgets.

Environmental graduate - Perform environmental approvals such as STEP1s, STEP2s, MWREF and Project REF. - Carry out CEMP and sub-plans.

Assisting with the project on and off site.

Inspections, creating action lists, creating other enviro documents (PESCPs & EWMS), monitoring, sampling, testing, identifying and resolving hazards, Reacting to incidents, reporting, Creating POs, etc.

My role is to work alongside Terver (Eastern Enviro Manager) and Philip (Eastern Enviro Advisor). My role involves conducting site inspections, being present on site when works impact the environment or are high risk, such as tree removals. Day to day I work through Enviro management plans such as CEMPs & SEPs. I also work through ordering equipment we need, booking consultants as well. I find that daily I am having regular conversations with engineers and planners, learning more about what's happening on site, how it may impact the environment and what controls I need to put in place and by when. There are times where I may not have a lot of work to do, this has taken some time for me to get used to but being a graduate I do understand that at times work will be quiet.

My role is learning the finance processes over each part of the business. Have learnt at a regional level, now in a national role and will go learn the group processes in the future. Main duties include helping with Month end finance processes, but other tasks come as they are needed (risk assessments, asset management, etc).

Really enjoy my job. The day-to-day responsibilities are always changing and dynamic work day.

Throughout my rotations, I have been involved in some management duties. My day to day responsibilities are more of manage the work, site visits, crack a joke, smile a lot and back to work.

Graduate Engineer: - Plan for upcoming works (Submitting permits to work across various authorities, procuring plant and equipment, ensuring that timelines are communicated) - Log daily productivity for activities happening on site (Tracking costs and allocating costs to cost codes) - Interpret design drawings and ask questions to experienced supervisors on the construction methodology to execute the designs shown in the drawings. - Communicate between design engineers, surveyors and planners to reflect on activities taking place on site.

Organise photo shooting for media opportunities - prepare collateral to notify communities about upcoming roadworks - address community's enquiries and complaints.

I am very satisfied with my work, I feel the project I have been based on gives me more understanding of various areas of engineering and my role and allows me to grow more than I imagined as a graduate.

Since I started, I have been extremely supported by my team and was given manageable workload that allows time for new starters to work through the learning curve. On site, I am always accompanied by site supervisors, contractors (FH) and in some instances, my team members who teach the basics required for my role/ growth as an engineer.

My role is similar to that of a site engineer, and my day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining documentation and systems for quality, safety, and the environment, maintaining planning/programming to assist project managers with a 4-6 week look ahead, being able to read and interpret design plans and drawings, participating in client/contractor meetings when required, and providing financial assistance with cost tracking and invoicing of subcontractors on different packages of work. I also report upstream to project/senior project engineers while gaining leadership exposure with graduates and undergraduates.

Day-to-day responsibilities are diverse and fast-paced, providing plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
