Interagency Graduate Program 2024

Join the award-winning Interagency Graduate Program, a collaborative initiative by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) and the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI).

  • Permanent position at the conclusion of the program (subject to satisfactory performance)
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Starting salary of $79,156 p.a. plus 11% superannuation
  • Commence on 15 January 2024

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) and the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) have come together to create an award-winning interagency graduate program. It provides a multidisciplinary experience in policy, industry regulation, consumer protection, labour relations, energy, tourism, international trade, defence, science and innovation.

The 18-month program aims to build the skills, experience and networks required for a successful and rewarding career in the public sector. A customised rotational plan provides graduates with a range of opportunities to rotate through diverse business areas across our 2 agencies. You will have the opportunity to work on state-wide projects and initiatives, using your skills and knowledge to help improve the lives of the West Australian community.

Initial employment is on a fixed-term basis, commencing January 2024, with the provision for permanent appointment following the successful completion of the first 12-months.

As an Interagency Graduate, you will receive:

  • A permanent position at the conclusion of the program, subject to satisfactory performance
  • Rotations through diverse business areas, including interagency rotations
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities
  • A comprehensive support network, including graduate manager and sponsor, your graduate cohort and a dedicated graduate coordinator

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for graduates who have finished their degree in 2021, 2022 or by December 2023 (in a discipline relevant to the position you are applying for), with a strong willingness to learn, collaborate with team members and stakeholders, and possess excellent research, analytical, and written skills.
