Management at CSIRO

8.8
8.8 rating for Management, based on 41 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
The graduate program managers are wonderful and have helped tremendously throughout my time at CSIRO, however the experience one might receive with managers outside of the graduate program is different for everyone.
Graduate, Adelaide - 16 Nov 2023
Very accessible, easy to communicate with, and understanding. They have been my key mentors throughout my journey here and have always shown recognition and praise when needed (to everyone, not just me). They have been great communicators, and very adaptable to the different needs, skills and capabilities of the individuals within their teams.
Graduate, Wollongong - 16 Nov 2023
My supervisor and their supervisor (my group leader) are really lovely people, can communicate really well, have been very forthcoming with praise and support.
Graduate, Newcastle - 01 Nov 2023
See previous regarding praise and recognition with systems testing activity. Managers are accessible and easy to talk to. The time of year means a lot of people are taking leave, but we always have someone to talk to if we need help.
Intern, Brisbane - 08 Jan 2022
The team manager is always ready to help and is very polite. Not much performance feedback or mentorship from management.
Intern, Canberra - 23 Dec 2021
There could be more performance feedback and checking in.
Intern, Melbourne - 20 Dec 2021
I get lots of emails from managers etc. but have rarely seen any of them in person.
Intern, Melbourne - 20 Dec 2021
My manager is directly involved in the project, we meet often to discuss it, overall I'm very satisfied.
Intern, Sydney - 17 Dec 2021
both of my managers have been very supportive and accommodating. I speak daily with the PhD student I work for and he has been very encouraging and pleasant to speak with. his supervisor has gone out of his way to ensure that I have what I need to do my job and has come by the cubical twice to see if I need anything.
Graduate, Hobart - 17 Dec 2021
Yes, my manager is very good. They are quite busy but make time to provide feedback and support to us as interns.
Intern, Hobart - 17 Dec 2021
They do feel a little disconnected but are generally quite positive and pushing in the right directions
Intern, Sydney - 17 Dec 2021
Overall satisfied.
Intern, Hobart - 17 Dec 2021
Extremely satisfied.
Intern, Geelong - 17 Dec 2021
Yes they sit in the same area as the other employees and are always interacting with everyone. Very friendly
Intern, Perth - 16 Dec 2021
My manager is lovely and even though she is over East she is always checking up on me and arranging meetings with me to touch base
Intern, Perth - 16 Dec 2021
Supervisor is very busy, but makes sure to find time if needed to discuss and plan. Plenty of access to mentorship, always willing to teach new things or explain concepts. Good performance feedback and recognition, always encourages good work ethics and doing things properly.
Intern, Melbourne - 10 Dec 2021
The management is good, however, I feel like students have been forgotten about and are not part of the greater plan here; rather we are just in the way.
Intern, Newcastle - 08 Dec 2021
Yes I am satisfied. They are very accessible, they are always free for a talk or meeting as long as they are not in another one themselves. They are just normal people, easy to talk to, they understand my problems, they were once students as well.
Intern, Sydney - 08 Dec 2021
It doesn't really feel like management, they just help me out when I need it. Very good mentors.
Intern, Brisbane - 08 Dec 2021
The nature of the job means staff are significantly independent, and management gives good guidance and feedback
Intern, Bribane - 08 Dec 2021
