What's on offer

Located in the City Inspectorate and City Standards Branches, Environmental Health Officers (EHO) are responsible for the application and enforcement of legislation and local laws that protect public and environmental health. As an EHO Graduate, you will apply your public health and environmental protection knowledge to achieve outcomes for our City, residents and visitors. You will perform your role as an Authorised Officer, exercising delegated powers to apply legislation and local laws.

A typical day as an EHO may include assessment of food businesses, personal appearance services and environmentally relevant activities, as well as water testing at commercial swimming pools, noise monitoring at music events, public health-related investigations including asbestos in non-workplace settings, noise and environmental nuisance investigations and water pollution investigations.
