There's opportunity to progress in purely technical roles as well as opportunity to progress into management type roles. It's all competency based, rather than time based, so if you can demonstrate competency in an area you don't need to wait out a certain time period to progress.

Low transparency in the system. Have to really drive the direction which seems doable to make your way but requires more effort than it could. Mainly older people are up in the ranks. You'll never see a young person in leadership in comparison to tech companies. Young is like 35-40.
