As a part of a graduate program, I have the great benefit of learning a variety of different roles. My day-to-day responsibilities often include engagement with people of other teams either chasing information or keeping in contact about progressing projects. In my current role I am currently getting to draw up and design drill and blast plans. I love getting to see the mine in a 3D space. It is also a part of the role to get out into the field regularly with those in execution to better understand how the mine actually functions in reality and not just in the ideal design state.

As a graduate, we are embedded in the team and get to work on "real" jobs". Often this can involve more administration and chasing up stakeholders than genuine technical work however.

Technical Functions Discipline Engineer, my roles involves providing technical support to the studies and development teams. That means ensuring electrical designs, drawings, calculations and infrastructure are up to standard before implementation of the project

Organising meetings, delivering work to schedules and cost estimates Executing projects

Working in operations role, high pressure fast paced environment which is demanding. Sometimes have lack of support and required to take on large amount of responsibility early on.

Day to day involves brainstorming improvements and testing or programming software changes

Enjoy learning about areas of the business and different processes through practical examples.

Currently working as a weekly scheduler, meetings are held throughout the day as well as working with the software

Project manage mechanical engineering projects across site. include equipment replacement and upgrades (design and execution phase). Also do scheduling and cost management for project.

Developing maintenance strategies for fixed plant. Root cause analysis of failed plant incidents. Low responsibility as a graduate.

Approving Engineering changes, updating blue print, project technical support.

A lot more responsibility given to me than what I expected as a recent graduate and someone new to industry

My role is pretty diverse in responsibilities, and so there is usually a new challenge everyday. Definitely never boring, although at times the fact that it is always a new challenge on top of everything else going on can be exhausting.

Day-to-day changes regularly. In my first rotation, I had a lot less day-to-day activities, more long-term planning and scheduling. In my current rotation, there is work to be done on a daily basis, mainly meeting with stakeholders, contractors or overseeing construction. If find this rotation far more engaging.

As a day-to-day production support engineer, the pressure of the role can be high depending on the day - this is both a great opportunity to develop and a good challenge, but can be quite tiresome if it goes on for an extended time period.

Day to Day role is optimization engine development and my responsibilities are safety and reduced run time.

Minimal learning opportunities. Mosty get assigned the work that specialists decide they don't want.

Project delivery doesn't provide much challenge as there is very little engineering decision making involved.
