Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
There are many pathways to choose, however it is worth noting that in my case the graduate program appears designed to funnel us into specific areas
Graduate, Perth - 07 Dec 2022
Promotional opportunities everywhere, you just need the experience and drive
Graduate, Perth - 07 Dec 2022
Large company with opportunities available all the time and across the world
Graduate, Olympic Dam - 02 Dec 2022
Not much clarity on how to be promoted within technology. Seems that a move to management is inevitable and those who prefer to develop technically first don't have much opportunity. Not many technology personnel who have been here long term in my field, hard to chart a career path with no examples of progression in my field.
Graduate, Perth - 01 Dec 2022
Opportunities for leadership or to become highly skilled. It takes experience, actively participating in development plan, actively seeking new connections and opportunities
Graduate, Perth - 01 Dec 2022
If it's part of your development plan and you work towards it is possible. It is important people within the company know what you do and have good connections.
Graduate, Adelaide - 01 Dec 2022
It takes doing good work on all fronts
Graduate, Perth (Pilbara region) - 30 Nov 2022
Career progression looks promising. Haven't received a promotion since being in the graduate program.
Graduate, Perth - 28 Nov 2022
Very negative experience, graduates in all the other companies are allowed mobility even if they haven't completed the graduate program. The experience I have here in BHP is very limiting and controlled rather than pursuing business excellence. Frankly disappointing.
Graduate, Olympic Dam - 28 Nov 2022
Regular salary review and opportunities based on experience.
Graduate, Perth - 28 Nov 2022
At my current stage everything is great - lots of opportunities to step up and take on more responsibility. There is a bit of a ceiling that people hit a bit further up due to superintendents/managers getting comfortable, so people end up seeking opportunities externally because there are no positions available internally.
Graduate, Roxby Downs - 28 Nov 2022
Due to the size of the company, and Australia being the company's primary location, there is a significant amount of promotion opportunities.
Graduate, Newman/Perth - 28 Nov 2022
Can definitely see a development pathway towards career progression if I chose to pursue this.
Graduate, Olympic Dam, Roxby Downs - 28 Nov 2022
So many different streams to take to get to the top and also lots of backing from leaders if you explain your intentions
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Nov 2022
Shortage of enviros. I'll probably be okay.
Graduate, Winchester - 28 Nov 2022
Superintendent pay and bonus would be good but it doesn't interest me otherwise
Graduate, Olympic Dam - 28 Nov 2022
Hard work is recognised in the team
Graduate, Perth - 26 Nov 2022
It is a very competitive and hot market now. Good time to get promotion.
Graduate, Perth - 26 Nov 2022
Career progression opportunities are poor for males at our company. Progression is limited by quota.
Midlevel, Perth - 25 Nov 2022
Initiative and passion
