Working Hours at BAE Systems Australia

8.6
8.6 rating for Working Hours, based on 38 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
I have a good balance with WFH and Office. I spend 3-4 days in the office a week (1-2 WFH). I find it easiest when I do have 2 WFH days a week as I find the balance most productive.

Working a 9DFN but mostly working from the office unless we have a doctors appt or training for half a day or more.

BAE Systems is very flexible with this regards. I am able to choose my hours that I work as long as I put in the required time and get the assigned work finished. The company also implements the 9 day fortnight system that can be opted in. This allows me to arrange appointments and such without having to use my accrued leave.

My team is so flexible with hours and understanding of personal circumstances.

Working hours are quite flexible. The team I am with hase set out a couple of days during the week where we try to all be in the office at the same time. Apart from that, it is quite flexible and creates an enjoyable work life.

I never work more than 38 hours a week. I usually work a few hours extra between Monday to Thursday which makes my Friday much shorter, effectively, a half-day.

My team is very flexible and will work around any responsibilities held outside of work. I am very grateful to be able to work from home and avoid the commute home when I am on a tight schedule. It enables me to fit things in before and after work and I am always so grateful for that.

Very flexible, we can work pretty much whatever hours of the day we like and can work from home up to 2 days a week, although this is a fairly flexible agreement with your line manager.

9-Day fortnight is available, as well as flex-hours. Longer hours (sometimes very long) are required time to time, but it's more a matter of "as long as the work gets done", which also means that it can be more flexible in non-crunch times

there is a great level of flexibility, with only two mandatory office days in a week. the 9 day fortnight is an extremely valuable tool to be able to separate the work week and gain an extra week day whilst remaining just as productive

Flexi hours with great support of a good work/life balance

I work longer days (8.5 hours a day) because we work on an Rostered Day Off (RDO) System whereby if we work 8.5 hour days a week, we get every fortnight Friday off. I enjoy the RDO system but now would prefer a 4-day work every week as opposed to one 4-day work every fortnight, especially for the amount of hours we do in a week (42 hour weeks).

BAE are very flexible when it comes to hours. I am currently on a 9 day fortnight, which means I work 9 hour days and get every second Friday off. I find this works well for me, and I am able to reshuffle my hours to suit me e.g. work 9.5 hours one day if I need a shorter day another time. The company is also very flexible with when I work my hours, for instance, I like to start earlier so I can finish earlier and get activities into my evenings that I would not be able to if I worked a standard 9 - 5.

Nearly complete flexibility with work hours/scheduling.

Working hours are slightly more as i participate in the 9 day fortnight. Flexibility is high as life happens.

I do 9DFN where I work 8.5 hours each day (8 hours on opposite Fridays) and get a friday off every two weeks. Working hours are incredibly flexible. You can come in at 6am at the earliest and 10am at the latest, though they are not too strict if you come in a bit later. They want you to at least be here from 10am to 3pm so that cooperation between teams or other members is possible. WFH is also somewhat possible, but can be hard when trying to work on the product since it cannot be taken out of the office (understandably).

Expectation is 60% of the time in the office across the company, but individual projects have different expectations dependent on the work involved. Flexible work options are available.

The company is very flexible, I can work around other commitments I have.
