Career Prospects at Australia Post

From my understanding, graduates who perform strongly may have the opportunity to transition to a permanent position within a team they have completed a rotation with.

Networking and building strong relations through your rotations is necessary.

It seems quite a difficult and an arduous process to get a promotion or a new contract. HR is also not the most supportive in these cases from my understanding.

I mean hear stories about how people move around different areas of the organization from where they started I think its interesting to see where you might end could be different from where your starting now.

It feels like departments within Post are looking to promote graduates as quickly as they can - you learn skills quickly & promotion from within is the most common hiring method I have seen. To move up the ranks you just have to do your time, take an interest, and there will be plenty of opportunities if you show that initiative.

Promotions are very structured, if one wishes to be promoted they will need to first apply for the role & prove that they meet the criteria outlined in the application.

Career progression relies on business needs i.e. when another role opens up because someone leaves the company. However, with the business's current performance, promotion possibilities are scarce.
