About the Opportunity

Inland Rail launches its Graduate intake for a July 22 Intake.

You will start with us on Monday 4th July 2022.
  
We have opportunities for 2 graduates to join the Commercial and Procurement teams kick-starting their careers working on Australia’s largest and most technically complex freight rail infrastructure program.
  
You will participate in a structured two-year program, which includes at least 3 rotations. You will gain exposure to several commercial related disciplines in our state-of-the-art Brisbane office and on-site where possible.
  
On completion, you will have the opportunity to work in roles across Inland Rail until it is scheduled for operation from 2027.

Main Responsibilities

You will work under the guidance and leadership of commercial and procurement leads and management teams to provide commercial support to procurement, contract management and quality assurance teams.
Your development program will see you, and will not be limited to:

• Support the commercial teams on managing commercial projects, including procurement, contracts management and compliance;
• Actively support the transactional buyer function to ensure stakeholder requirements are met;
• Drive, manage participate in or facilitate commercial improvement projects to establish efficient processes and supporting systems;
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand requirements and work towards a commercial outcome; and,
• With the support of the Inland Rail Legal team, assess the relevance of contractual terms, in support of business outcomes.

About You

We are seeking enthusiastic graduates who are invested in and committed to their personal and professional development. To be eligible for consideration, you should have completed a Bachelor in relevant fields such as commerce, business, accounting, economics, finance or law in the last two years, as well as:

• Desire to learn and gain experience in the delivery of commercial outcomes for major industry/infrastructure projects in both brownfield and greenfield settings;
• Demonstrable ability to work in an organised, well-ordered manner, and autonomously;
• Highly developed written and oral communication and presentation skills;
• Highly developed problem resolution and interpersonal skills;
• Strong literacy with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint) and customised software packages;
• Resilience and the ability to embrace change; and,
• Demonstrated commercial acumen.
