A unique opportunity exists in ABL's Sydney office for a law graduate to join our Corporate & Commercial team. This role would suit either a graduate or someone who has recently commenced their career and is looking to join private practice.

This graduate role forms part of a graduate cohort across our Melbourne and Sydney offices. PLT (practical legal training) will be provided as part of the traineeship, with the ability to attend our specialised in-house graduate training.

The role

We're looking for an outstanding graduate who is a self-starter with highly developed analytical skills, an eye for detail and strong interpersonal skills. You have an exceptional legal mind, as well as commercial and strategic nous. You enjoy feeling challenged, and to be given opportunities to take on additional responsibility with autonomy. You want to feel like you are an important member of, and making a meaningful and valued contribution to, a team that is consistently outperforming its competitors. You are ambitious, enjoy success and are ready to perform at your own high standard.

You will have:

  • completed your law degree with excellent academic results;
  • achieved strong results in corporate law subjects with a genuine passion for this subject matter;
  • an ability to communicate, both in writing and orally, clearly and concisely;
  • excellent attention to detail;
  • strong interpersonal skills;
  • an ability to understand and identify the key issues in a legal matter;
  • good judgement and common sense;
  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and
  • a passion for a career in commercial law.
