About the Commercial Summer Intern Program

Australia Commercial provides banking products and services to more than 600,000 small and medium businesses, corporates and specialised industry customers, as well as Private Banking and Advice customers across Australia.

Australiaโ€™s economy depends on the strength of the small to medium business sector. Australia Commercial exists to serve our customers and support their aspirations. By assisting this strategically important segment throughout a customerโ€™s lifetime from start-up through to the sale of a business, we play a critical role in helping to achieve ANZโ€™s purpose and overall strategy. With record investment in the division, this has enabled us to develop a clear strategy to achieve our goal to be the leading bank for small-to-medium Australian businesses looking to start, run or grow.

What to expect in your 8-week Commercial Banking Internship

As an intern, you will gain exposure to a wide range of experiences in how we serve and work with our customers across one or more of our businesses.

Who makes a good Australia Commercial Banking Intern?

You donโ€™t need a banking or finance background to join Australia Commercial โ€“ you will enjoy collaborating on exciting projects, thrive working in a team, be a strong communicator, enjoy putting forward ideas and deliver at pace.

You are passionate about helping our customers meet their needs through creative ideas, data, research and problem solving  building strong relationships along the way. You are friendly, curious, self-motivated, and keen to build your understanding of how a business operates.

Suitable applicants

We are looking for well-rounded people who are keen to join a fast-paced, rapidly transforming business environment. Our Commercial Division is degree agnostic, we are looking for passion and skills from all study streams.

Interns who go on to become Graduates in our program are from diverse backgrounds but have one thing in common: theyโ€™re passionate about our customers and are committed to creating a great customer experience.

Note: Please only submit one application / apply for one advertisement for the 2024/25 ANZ Summer Intern Program. You will have the opportunity to also select a second preference of stream as part of the application form. If you apply for more than one, we will only be progressing your first application.

ANZ recognises the value of an inclusive and diverse work environment. We take pride in the diversity of our people and encourage applications from diverse candidates. Our recruitment decisions are based on the key inherent needs and requirements of each role and candidates are selected based on their unique strengths and characteristics.โ€ฏ
