I enjoy monitoring the process in my area and optimising where I can. Often little things have high impact when fixed or implemented which I enjoy.

Focus on asset reliability, day-to-day electrical troubleshooting and support, and all electrical installations and work for various projects across the operational area.

My day-to-day responsibilities include developing asset strategies, assisting the operation center with technical queries surrounding shutdowns, developing risk assessments etc.

A typical day would include: - Morning process trend checks which are then followed by morning meetings up to 9am. - Afterwards I'd typically do more detailed checks of the area followed by short/longer term projects tasks I have, but that depends upon priorities for the day. - More urgent tasks might be developing a process plan, following up a process control issue or advanced troubleshooting for a persistent/urgent process issue.

As an area chemical engineering my day-to-day responsibilities largely focus on troubleshooting my area and identifying where to make improvements to make the process more efficient. It includes a lot of liasing with maintenance and production supervisors to schedule heater swaps, washes, drilling etc.

Good mix of long-term projects and day to day work. Site exposure allows for more hands-on work experience and implementation of ideas.

There's a lot of variety, and the work is really interesting. Currently assisting with drafting management plans and review documents that support a part IV approval process - which is a fantastic opportunity to get a strong understanding of mining approvals.

They are interesting and I am learning more.

My current role sees me responsible for all engineering in an integral part of the refining process. Ensuring equipment is adequately maintained, creating solutions to problems that arise, and looking at future improvements.
